San Diego Injury Rehab & Pain Relief Trainer
In an ideal world, everyone would have access to coaches specially trained to prevent injury. Reality check: We often don’t bother seeking out a coach until we’re already injured and in pain. But what might our bodies look and feel like if we actively worked to prevent injury instead of just responding to it once it’s already there?
Injury can come in many forms. Injuries aren’t always visible, and they don’t always happen all at once during an accident. Many injuries occur slowly over time, due to your body alignment or movement patterns. Here are some common types of injuries that we work with at MVMNT Studio.
Sciatica Pain Relief
Sciatica is a common form of pain that many people experience, whether or not they can assign a name to it. The sciatic nerve runs from your lower back through your hips and butt down each leg. “Sciatica” refers to the pain that some people experience along this nerve, normally just on one side of their body.
What Causes Sciatic Nerve Pain?
Sciatic nerve pain is often associated with an injury such as a herniated disc, because it compresses part of the nerve and causes pain and inflammation. Some people experience sciatic pain on its own, without a root cause, perhaps from sitting at a desk all day.
Sciatica Symptoms
Symptoms of sciatic nerve pain can include:
- Lower back pain that radiates down a leg
- Numbness, weakness, or tingling
- Mild acheness or a burning sensation
- Pain that worsens with movement
- Changes in bladder or bowel control
Sciatic pain can be debilitating, both physically and mentally. While severe cases of sciatica require surgery, most people can improve their sciatic pain with exercise. There’s so much that can be done to get you out of pain – and you don’t have to do it alone. Our sciatica pain relief coach can help.
